This short course describes the HVAC plant and discusses the main alternative approaches to heat and cool large commercial buildings. The chilled water system and its primary components (chiller, cooling tower and air handling units) are introduced and their functions and interactions explained. Important topics such as mitigating against Legionnaires Disease are highlighted. In addition, modern elevator systems are introduced along with key selection critera. WHO CAN BENEFIT? Anyone who deals with construction, management and sales/leasing of commercial buildings.
